What's Lovable About This Movie
If you were skeptical about Clayton James as a leading man, he no doubt won you over with his sweet demeanor and infectious smile. Josh (James) is a coach on more than just the basketball court. Without him, Taylor may have never had the courage to complete her challenges, and he's an unending source of positivity for his anxious daughter, Chloe.
Taylor is too uptight and regimented, and it's fun watching her learn to be more flexible and open to new experiences. It's also sweet the way she takes a vested interest in Chloe.
Together, Taylor and Josh make a cute couple and have enough chemistry to please most Hallmark fans.
What's Dorky About This Movie
The daily affirmations Taylor listens to are pretty dumb. Positive thinking alone can only take you so far; it doesn't resolve the root of any problem.
Taylor is apparently into essential oils. We all know someone who thinks every ailment and problem in life can be solved with an essential oil. It's like a wellness cult.
This is a funny headline from The Babylon Bee
The movie progresses to its natural end, but before it does, Taylor's dad drops the bomb that her own mother had completed the exact same challenges, and it's how the two of them first met. He reveals this now in hopes it will propel her to tell Josh she loves him. It's too far-fetched and very similar to the storyline in Hallmark's Unlocking Christmas where a series of riddles are planted by the parents of the main character to lead him to love. It feels hokey and contrived because if any parent had such a unique story about their past, especially how they met, this would have been family lore spoken of frequently over the years.

Taylor is clearly not 30 years old, even though that's the milestone she's celebrating.
If Taylor's mom knew far enough in advance that she was going to die, how did she muster up the stamina to put together such an elaborate plan for her daughter's 30th birthday? By the way, Taylor's ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE was buried in the time capsule. You need your birth certificate for a variety of things, like obtaining a federal I.D. to fly, but let's just bury it in the flower bed anyway.
Sara clearly has the hots for Josh and is hoping their relationship will soon progress to the next level. Once she sees the engagement ring, you would think her territorial instincts would kick in, causing her to scare away attractive neighbor, Taylor. Nope. Not in a Hallmark movie! Sara smiles happily, acts pleased as punch her dreams are burning to the ground, and serves Josh to Taylor on a silver platter. Okaaaay.
A Feel-Good Movie Nonetheless
Kyle and his emoji-deciphering dilemma when considering matches from several dating apps is pretty funny. He acts like a "player," yet he never has the nerve to actually ask anyone out.
Were you inspired by the labeled containers organized in Taylor's fridge? Pretty impressive.
Taylor rescues Josh from his disorganization, and he rescues her from her many fears. It's cute. Viewers reach the end with warm fuzzies, which means it works.
I'm giving it 2 out of 4 snowflakes. ❄❄
